“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

    Great shame.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Carly Simon "Spy". Less well known than her other stuff, but still a good 'un. You'd think with that title it would include the James Bond theme, but it doesn't.

    Hi Steve

So in the next post this is what I did for the image.

you need to copy the image link ie as https://img.discogs.com/muIs9Geu-x31...97935.jpeg.jpg

If you are using windows PC the simplest way is to open a tab for Discogs.com and then find the album you are playing and open it so you can see the track listing etc., left click on the small picture of the album cover this should open a larger view of it. Next right mouse click on the larger view of the album cover and then in the list you see appear select copy image link, it may be worded slightly differently but the same meaning.

Next go back to AoS and this thread, and select new post in it, then elect the "insert image" icon which is the third along from the top, when the box appears in the top entry box where it has click in the text box and then use CTRL and V key to paste the image link you previously copied to the clip board. Now click on ok and you should now see as below in the text box but without the quotes, I only put these in ie "" so you can see what you need.

    ""

If you use the "go advanced" button on the post you can then click on preview to see result

    I hope this helps

Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

Analog Inputs: Pro-Ject Signature 10 TT & arm, Benz Micro LP-S, Michel Cusis MC, Goldring 2500 and Ortofon Rondo Blue cartridges, Hitachi FT5500 mk2 Tuner

Digital:- Marantz SA-KI Pearl CD player, RaspberryPi/HifiBerry Digi+ Pro, Buffalo NAS Drive

Amplification:- AudioValve Sunilda phono stage, Krell KSP-7B pre-amp, Krell KSA-80 power amp

Output: Wilson Benesch Vector speakers, KLH Ultimate One Headphones

Cables: Tellurium Q Ultra Black II RCA & Chord Epic 2 RCA, various speaker leads, & links

I think I am nearing audio nirvana, but don’t tell anyone.

The first part (the Discogs part) is not a problem, it's when I go back to AoS and try to insert image. I click on the icon (it's the one next to "insert video"), and this throws up an "Insert Image" box, which asks for a lengthy URL number (surely I don't have to write down the URL shown in Discogs then type it into that box? It must be simpler than that). In any case if I type ctrl P my PC just tries to send the page to my printer (like it thinks I want ctrl P for print) I can't get past this.

Appreciate you trying Adrian, as you have before - the problem is that my PC is even more stupid than me
