It's not a 1st press but is very early on probably 3rd press from the same year, I also have to much more recent 2016 re-mastered release. What is noticeable on the original is that there is much more punch and definition, especially to the bass, transients and dynamics seem much better. It is a favourite of mine as it came out when I was in 6th form college and we listened to it a lot and I have always liked it, I was never very happy with re-master so I very pleased to have an early copy that sounds great.

Pink Floyd ‎– Wish You Were Here
    Label: Harvest ‎– SHVL 814
    Format: Vinyl, LP, Album, Stereo
    Country: UK
    Released: 12 Sep 1975

Mirrors my experience of this album exactly. I had thought it may have been due to my worsening hearing over the decades since the original release, or even a VTA issue due to being a thicker disc. But it looks like the reason is simpler than that: early presses good, recent re-presses shit

Shame really, this is my favourite PF album.

Yes, if you haven't yet see if you can find a 2nd or 3rd variant, they should not be too costly on Discogs for a NM/VG+ sleeve will never be great as subject to discolouration with time.
Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

This is one of the harder to get into KC albums IMO, at least it is to me, not sure why it is just not as accessible for some reason.
