I know! These are Anita's albums, she has always been a big fan since her teens. I put these on for her, just to see her little face light up We both slept through most of the second one...

I can see you both peeping...

I can honestly say I haven't played this since the 80s, same with "No Jacket Required" and "Hello I must be Going".

At the time I was in Britannia Music Club, and each month they had a "Record of the Month". Which they sent to you unless you asked them not to. Well I always missed the deadline, and was too bone idle to return them. I suspect that is how I got the Phil Collins ones, which I don't mind, apart from the fact they never get played.

There'll be a few more records on my shelf that came to me this way.

The opening track on Face Value is "In the Air Tonight" which I knew Anita would like (all women like a bit of Phil) but all she said was "I can't hear this without thinking about that gorilla"

Me too, I suspect 50% of my mid 80’s collection is because of my laziness... well that’s my excuse for the Brother Beyond album and I’m sticking to it!

I fear if I put on “In the Air Tonight” my wife would send me to the petrol station to buy chocolate...

I want to be sympathetic, but The Harder I Try, the further away from me it's slipping... because Brother, that's Beyond the pale. I'll get me coat

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I have to confess I bought my copy on the strength of the cover artwork (), without knowing too much about Little Feat. But was quickly converted and afterwards bought a few more of their LPs.
