HANOI ROCKS - ORIENTAL BEAT (40TH ANNIVERSARY RE(AL)MIX)

WELL, I'M WAITING FOR MY PRE-ORDER OF THIS ALBUM TO ARRIVE BUT, UNFORTUNATELY ITS NOW BEEN DELAYED TILL APRIL; STRANGELY, BECAUSE I ORDERED IT THROUGH AMAZON, ITS AVAILABLE FOR ME TO LISTEN TO, AS I GET A FREE RIP OF ANYTHING I BUY FROM THEM SO, I THOUGHT, I CANT HANG AROUND ANYMORE........ LETS ROCK!!!!!

WHAT DO I THINK AFTER MY INITIAL PLAY?? ITS A TOUGH ONE; I LIKE BOTH (ORIG AND THE REDUX) BUT, THERE'S FOR AND AGAINST FOR BOTH. I'VE LISTENED TO THE ORIG FOR 40+YRS AND I STILL THINK IT SOUNDS GREAT. THE REDUX LOSES A LITTLE OF THE ORIGINAL PUNCH (THE DRUM SOUND ISN'T QUITE RIGHT (SOUNDS LIKE A LITTLE TOO MUCH COMPRESSION) BUT THE BASS CUTS THROUGH A LITTLE BETTER. STRANGELY, IF YOU LISTEN TO THE REDUX ALBUM VIA HEADPHONES IT SOUNDS A LITTLE FLAT/DULL BUT IF YOU LISTEN VIA YOUR HI-FI IT SOUNDS QUITE CLEAR.

I FIND I LIKE BOTH VERSIONS WITH A SLIGHT LEANING TOWARDS THE ORIGINAL AS A PREFERENCE. IF YOU LIKED HANOI ROCKS AS MUCH AS I DID/DO THEN YOU'LL UNDERSTAND WHERE I'M COMING FROM. THEY'RE STILL ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE BANDS AND ALWAYS WILL BE !!

PS. I BOUGHT IT ON VINYL AS ALL MY OTHER ALBUMS BY THEM WERE BOUGHT ON VINYL BECAUSE THAT'S ALL THAT WAS AVAILABLE BACK IN THE DAY SO I'LL KEEP IT GOING. I'VE GOT EM ON CD OF COURSE
It isn't necessarily about doing things right, its also about doing the right thing !!!!!

ITS A LONG WAY TO THE TOP........................ WHEN YA WANNA ROCK N ROLL !!!
