This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

Thought I'd listen to some 70's pop while I tidied up, what struck me was how up beat and happy nearly all the songs were, a rather more optimistic and happy feel than some of today's offerings I feel.

Time for some favourite classic Rock. I was never quite sure about the SQ of this re-issue but since I have taken the time to get my arm and cartridge spot on for VTA, VTF and Azimuth it actually sounds very good.

Gone back to my roots, the second album I ever purchased in 1971 when I was 13, my parents hated it, the original copy I had was the one with the record in a thin box, it was played a lot. Deep Purple in Rock was the 3rd I purchased along with Led Zeppelin III.

Going back to when I was 14 and staying at my Aunt's in Stevenage and my cousin, Linda, brought this around for me to listen to, she said "You just have to hear this one, and School's Out by Alice Cooper.". If you have never heard "Bayou Country" then it is a must listen to. By the way this re-issue is superb.

The Peddlers: Suite London. Eclipse CD Reish.

Another near Dessert Island Jobbie, not exactly mellow but a great jazz tinged laid back groove even if it has got the LPO on board.
