I'm going to stick a CD of King Crimson's 'Thrak' on really loud set to repeat and see how long the missus can take it!

If I was going to lick a cane toad I think I would lick its back or head, not it’s down under!

Anyway, great album that, not played it for years.

I Have my “songs I have obsessed about” Spotify playlist going at the moment. Just had Blur with Coffee & TV, now on to Toyah and Thunder in the Mountains, from the first album I ever bought, Anthem. A proper eclectic mix it is. Family are playing board games in the dining room, I’m in the study pretending I’ve still got urgent work to finish!

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I realise that my initial comment was blunt to the point of being rude. I have never been impressed by Yes, despite seeing them live back in 1970 (?), and don't like the sound of Jon Anderson's voice. So why did I acquire this particular disc? Well, for some strange reason I do like the works of Jon and Vangelis, so I though I would take a punt on it when I saw it in a charity shop for 50p.

Played it again this afternoon and whilst I like some of the instrumental parts, overall the album failed to impress me and I found myself not really listening to it. Back to the charity shop then, for a 're-churn'.

That seems a bit unfair - you're getting a free acid trip, but what's the toad getting in return?

Australians don't know how lucky they are, British toads do nothing and taste like shit

As we have decided not go out this evening we have enjoyed 1987 on CD at dinner.

Maybe a couple of episodes of S2 Babylon 5 now then some choons later to see in the change of years.
