I thought I'd put some Glam Rock on especially for Barry!

Seriously though I am so lucky to have found a copy of this at a price I can afford (£36 including post all the way from Finland, a lot of sellers are asking silly prices). I think it is possibly my favourite KC album, not that most are pretty good, in this line up they seem to encapsulate their early feeling along with a rawness and edginess, Adrian Belew does an outstanding job on vocals, some of the tracks have an awesome power and presence hard to describe, it needs to be experienced. No everyone cup of tea but really worth a listen. The 4th side also has 4 tracks from the Vroom EP.

    King Crimson ‎– THRAK
    Label: Panegyric ‎– KCLPX13, Discipline Global Mobile ‎– KCLPX13, Inner Knot ‎– KCLPX13
Format: 2 Χ Vinyl, LP, Album, Reissue, Remastered, 200g
    Country: UK, Europe & US
    Released: 11 Oct 2019

Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

Analog Inputs: Pro-Ject Signature 10 TT & arm, Benz Micro LP-S, Michel Cusis MC, Goldring 2500 and Ortofon Rondo Blue cartridges, Hitachi FT5500 mk2 Tuner

Digital:- Marantz SA-KI Pearl CD player, RaspberryPi/HifiBerry Digi+ Pro, Buffalo NAS Drive

Amplification:- AudioValve Sunilda phono stage, Krell KSP-7B pre-amp, Krell KSA-80 power amp

Output: Wilson Benesch Vector speakers, KLH Ultimate One Headphones

Cables: Tellurium Q Ultra Black II RCA & Chord Epic 2 RCA, various speaker leads, & links

I think I am nearing audio nirvana, but don’t tell anyone.

Gong is not 'Glam Rock', it's just that I find Daevid Allen a bit too twee and whimsical; he was much better IMO when he played in Soft Machine. I used to have vinyl copies of 'Flying Teapot' and 'Camembert Electrique', but they didn't last long.

Fair enough, I still have my copy and a lot more besides. Even when they descend fully in to bonkers land, the musicianship is superb. I can understand anyone not liking it, but they are one of my favourites.

    I love Marmite as well.

But there are many performers who are good musicians, yet they largely leave me cold. Steve Hillage is one such, as is Steve Hackett.
