Quad FM3 - I just love the looks of that series. I have an FM4 but that was early 80s I think. Sounds good and is functional but the earlier one had character in spades - great industrial design.

Well the tuner to go for in the 70's was the Yammi 'CT-7000' However i found a lot of tuners from back then to be good.. The Quad 'FM3' as mentioned is a loverly looking & sounding thing but you need an amp with mains switching as it does not have it's own power switch..

An all Luxman system or an all Accuphase system would be great.

Did Stax do much good stuff in the 70s?

    Anybody remember the IMF turntable?

    Ha!
My second option would have been Ampzilla II and stacked LSTs. That would be something.

If ever a speaker was designed to be used with the grills on . I remember these, an interesting design with its combination of dipole and box mounted drivers - horribly built though and some of the drivers were pretty poor - odd that more speakers don't use three different types of tweeter all at once .... .

Only just read this thread but that gave me a giggle.

I used to have a Lecson AC1, swapped it for a 303 with my brother, wish I'd still got the 303

I love Hendrix for so many reasons. He was so much more than just a blues guitarist - he played damn well any kind of guitar he wanted. In fact I'm not sure if he even played the guitar - he played music. - Stevie Ray Vaughan
