Hello to AoS members,
My name is pete, 30ishand living in the Midlands in the UK.
I have had a keen, but not obsessive interest in hifi since I started work and could afford to indulge (I say work, I mean began earning money on a yts training scheme. Shows my age). It all started with a yamaha ax500 amp and jbl control sub sat speaker set. Looking back now I realise it was a bad combination.
I'm not going to say I enjoy all genres of music because it annoys me when people say than then turn their nose up at your music selection :-). I do however like a wide range of music, excluding the cacophony that is modern music (showing my age again)
My current audio setup has a few choice items that I couldnt bare to part with but also have a retro tinge to them. My oldest item is a WM DC2 which I bought over 20 years ago. For any of you with an interest in Walkmans, it was considered the best portable tape player ever available, although I didn't realise it at the time. I just like it because it sounded great and looked amazing. It does however suffer from the broken centre gear issue which all of these decks seem to at some point but does still work.
I also have a pair of TDL RTL 3SE speakers which again must be kicking on for 15 years old but sound as good as the day the were bought.
My pride and joy though has to be my Gyrodec with Roksan Tabriz arm. I am recently married but if there was a fire in the house, that would be rescued first.
I am currently between amps but having gained an interest in AV and surround, I am currently auditioning a few choice items including the excellent Pioneer lx57.
Please feel free to approve/mock my av choices over the years. I look forward to hearing from you all
