I am sure you had all worked out mine is my little girl, who is now 22 months, and it grew out of when she was born and everyone said she was the spitting image of her daddy so I started using her picture on Facebook, and then when I found forums it kind of stuck. Only disadvantage is that I obviously have to update it reasonably regularly, and I guess she'll be quite cheesed off with it when she's 18!

Sometimes I really fancy a change, I want to use this...

...but I don't have the heart!

Mine depicts my girlfriend staring at my hifi insidiously, and about to dissect it with a fork.

Oh, or maybe she was simply trying to finish dessert. I guess I'm just being paranoid...

I don’t really understand avatars but am grateful for Barry’s interesting explanation. My own new effort perhaps symbolises me in so far as it is an old portable tape recorder. I am becoming old, I like vintage equipment and still often use magnetic tape. The recorder; a Stellavox SU8 was desiged and built by Mr Georges Quellet who is a bit of a genius, which I am not.

A fairly obvious one for anyone familiar with Joy Division...

Unknown pleasures is not my favourite album (that can change daily), although I do like the album a lot, it's more that it's my favourite album cover, I like the simplicity...oh and I had the image to hand.
    Cheers, Will

Sign from outside a festival that I used to go to for many years and enjoyed "lost weekends", as evidenced by taking photos of signs like this (!?!) and seeing J&M Chain, Killing Joke, Siouxsie, 2 Many DJs...

It symbolises (no, please, wait...) me being switched off from work and stuff and being on the other side of the sign and in a good space, at least for a short while.

I use it on all forums I'm in. Maybe I lack imagination.

I used to love the Jesus and Mary Chain (still do).

There isn't much point in commenting on my avatar as it's pretty obvious.
