    Default Anyone LinkedIn?

As a new user of LinkedIn I'm looking to expand my connections base and it seems to me that folk with a similar interest might be helpful.
Not least as I reckon I could go for working in a HiFi retail environment.
So does anyone on here use it?

I'm on there but I am in logistics not hi-fi. Not a bad way to get job offers, I have had a couple over the past few years, nothing great though, but jobs I would take if I didn't already have one.
    Current Lash Up:

Yeah, I use LinkedIn but don't find it much use or even very flexible. I operate within the chemical industry as an industrial chemist but so far, haven't found LinkedIn a lot of use. I get far more use out of good old Facebook.

Me too, but not in the hifi industry.

The most useful thing is your ability to keep your "rolodex" of contacts when you move jobs w/o having employers getting heavy about downloading Outlook address books etc, but only so long as you link the site to your personal email. And, if your contacts move, they keep their bit of your contact list up to date for you!

I'm not just looking for folk in HiFi, sorry if I gave that impression.
My current and recent focus is logistics and storage so I'm definitely looking to build my contacts in that area but I'm open to any area as it seems sensible to cover a broad spectrum.
So much of the world is linked today that being flexible and knowing people in all fields is almost essential.

To that end, I'm Andrew Knight- retail, logistics and warehouse manager if anyone wants to connect. It really is a small world considering that in less than two hours four people besides myself have posted.

I am with Kember on this; exactly what I use Linkedin for...
I have also had work offers this way; the best way to find a new job is contacts; in larger Companies they can get you a backdoor in ie. the name to some one to talk to instead of blindly write an application to HR department.

Yep, that's the way, a contact to whisper in the right ear makes all the difference.
