No, it just shows that AoS is not the only place where there are people who're not motivated enough to provide proper photographs to accompany their for sale advert!

It's not uncommon for people to 'borrow' images for listings. I've seen it a few times.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Some bastard did it to me on eBay once, after I had spent a lot of time and effort taking them - he got the right arse when I challenged him over it too. eBay were very helpful though and removed his listing.

I dont see the big deal, anyone's welcome to steal & use mine... that said mine are of such sh*t quality no one would want them !

If its an issue maybe you could add you username in corner of the picture like some Chinese sellers do ?

Hmmm, well if you are selling something I would call it fraud and misrepresentation, unless of course you made it clear they were stolen

It's quite easy to 'watermark' images. Look on 'download.com' for free software.

I listed a Meridian CD player once which failed to sell but the photos were used by someone for their Meridian fansite..

Then when I relisted, I was accused of fraud by potential buyers because I'd 'just copied the photos from the Meridian fansite!' ... So don't let people use your photos if the item hasn't yet sold.

Anyway, making you photos freely available with no watermarking also enables fraudsters to list items they don't have ( although that's like trying to halt the tide..).

I got myself onto a proper dingdong with a seller a few years back in the 'goldrush' days.

won a pair of classic kef kalinda speakers at a reasonable price...only one speaker with the grille off in the photos but good condition all the same.

as the distance was short I elected to pay on collection, only to find on arrival that one bass driver was replaced with a substandard substitute. yes....the one with the grille in place in said photos.

I refused to pay, the guy got shirty and lots of abusive emails later i "invited" him over to mine for tea and crumpets!!!

needless to say he declined and the speakers were back on the site the following week....hope nobody here purchased them.
