Not for me Geoff.. I dont go all that high tbh but they dont sound or feel like they need it. Tried them on the single driver ones and they became a tad bright so did away. These having twin drivers are closer to bright anyways so think it would be wrong. Great believer in keeping it simple, and no electronics in the way seems to work for me. Course you need nice drivers, and think these are nicest. Sensitivity too is a big plus to full range, for me as you dont have to try and force anything. Decided to put the van dame silver boutique cable I found into the system. Needed to switch a couple of cables around so they would all fit. Glad I did now and the pain is worth it. Sounding that bit better with the change.
Van-Damme-Silver-Series-Session-Grade-Instrument-Cable-Low-Cap-55 (i think)
Also as I was doing all this decided to try the pioneer receiver in place of my pro art It was very decent and sweet enough but not as good I know folk think these little monos are crap but they ain't so there lol
So all back to as was now bar cable change and a little tidy
Cables do make a difference lol

You should try your big Sony amp with them, Grant. I've got half a dozen power amps and prefer the most powerful one.even though the speakers are very sensitive.
