Yeah, mine's a .22 Meteor too, from about 1970. Powerful old thing though, not far short of the Airsporter. Also got an underlever Relum model 322, forerunner to the Tornado, from the fifties I reckon, as is the rare German .177 Gecado model 22 I have (identical to the Diana model 22). Each in very nice original condition and perfect working order.

I used to have a .177 air pistol. Can't remember the make, save it was German, looked a bit like a Luger, and was 'cocked' by pressing in the barrel. It was pretty useless. Strangely, it was given to me by a policeman (a friend of the family), who had confiscated it from someone else.

Probably a Diana Model 2. Yes, they were useless.

(although not as useless as a GAT)

This video shows a tear down of a Prius transmission - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eg8c2_eS-do

There is another, perhaps shorter one, which explains the principles of this type of transmission - I'll see if I can find it.

I'm amazed at how many parts there are, even in this "simple" transmission. There is a chain in the drive train - I assume it's not a rubber band!

I had one like that as a kid, my grandad gave it me. Shaped like a Luger as you say, wooden handle, and operated like a Gat pistol. Was very weedy. May have been called 'Hanel' or something. Only had it a couple of weeks, accidentally shot my brother in the face with it, left a red mark, and had it taken off me.

This is, I think, the shorter video with a good explanation of how the Prius transmission works.

The tear down video was good too, though.

There is another one, down as a 3D model - Blender - I’ll look that one out too.

This is quite a good description of how the transmission works - https://youtu.be/E_xCssR8qQI

    More from Weber - P510 transaxle - https://youtu.be/pFug8jwbbTE

These could be good for insomniacs who want to know more!

There’s a whole series of these, discussing different variants of the basic design put into the cars over maybe a 15 year period.

I’m now guessing that the Renault Zoe has something a bit similar, so probably no rubber bands.

Hardly worth bothering these days - when I shoot, the pellet just sort of falls out of the barrel. And there's no lead in me pellets

Bought another oldish runabout. Don't laugh! Spotted it for sale and couldn't resist.

A 2007 1.2 Suzuki Wagon R GL owned by an old couple and in really lovely condition. Drives beautifully, very good bodywork, loads of service history and only 38k miles on the clock. I love these thing, had one before, the Vauxhall Agila badged version. They're a modern equivalent to the old Renault 4 and just as comfortable and useful.
