Cheers, mate. Yeah the CH-R is nice, but more 'manly'. The Mini is defo more of a girly car, and probably a little more distinctive, certainly with how the doors open at the back. I'm unaware of any other car on the road with that particular feature

I'm certainly looking forward to driving it - and also maintaining it, as that'll be up to me!

Nice car, but if a no deal Brexit goes ahead, you won’t need a big boot to bring back the customs allowance.

How did you find the ride?
I've driven quite a few and whilst they are super fun on the twistys the ride can get a bit jarring on a long journey. The run flat tyres don't help.
Also having repaired a few, i can say that the build quality is light years ahead of a Fiat 500. I mean shut the door on a Mini, then shut one on a Fiat and you know where the build quality is and isn't. And yes, they are Tardis like, one thinks it'll be all cramped in there, but in reality theres plenty of room.

    Slightly off topic, but..

Not sure i’d want a Volvo XC90 after this happened a few days ago outside my workplace..

I walked outside to bring a car into the workshop and saw a guy legging it away from his car. At first i thought it’d been stolen, but then noticed the fire. He’d actually been running to the fire station 15 meters away.
    Just after he got out..

    Then a minute later..

Unfortunately all the fire engines were on call, so this happened…

Seems theres a recall for a fuel leak at the moment, shame he didn’t get it done in time.

Doesn't look good. I had to look up the car - https://www.volvocars.com/uk/cars/new-models/xc90 Seems it comes in a few variants, including a plug-in electric version. Range in electric mode seems very low for a modern car, and generally the fuel consumption seems rather high - even worse if it catches fire.

Not sure if fire hazards are thing with electric cars - they might be, though the cars wouldn't normally have petrol to keep the flames comind!

No but they have lithium batteries which can be very volatile if damaged.
