Hehehehe... Have you ever had any, erm, 'little accidents' in your pants, when going that fast on two wheels?

Man, that must be a total adrenaline rush.... If anything should go wrong (even slightly), the consequences don't bear thinking about!!!

Modern bikes put 'fast' cars into perspective. Even the little CB-1 400cc Honda I had years ago would comfortably match a local Ferrari F40 up to 120mph.

Any decent 600 has acceleration that car owners can probably not even envisage. It's quite good fun being on a fast road and having a big Jag or Mitsubishi EVO come up behind and flash you at 85mph, then just opening the throttle without even changing down and watching them disappear backwards in the mirrors.

Then you have 'the big boys'! 1000cc and over. Not even a Veyron matches them for acceleration.

I've had a hankering for a Suzuki SV1000S for the last couple of years myself. Nice 1000cc V twin midrange grunt , 150mph+ top end and a standing 1/4 mile in under 11 secs at over 120mph ain't bad at all. Very quick off the mark, quoted as 3.1 secs 0-60 in some tests. And it's light and compact, nice.

I do agree... However, it's not ALL about speed - comfort is also important for some of us, too! Belting along the motorway at high speeds is all good and well, but these days I prefer to do it effortlessly in a car designed to take it in its stride, whilst remaining warm and cosy, listening to some quality choons!

On holiday, on the way back from Italy this year, I was doing just under 150mph on a deserted stretch of the Autostrada, with the cruise control and air-con on, in total comfort, listening to some Bert Jansch, whilst Del fed me bits of a rather nice Parma ham sandwich, as the world swished gracefully past us.... Lurvely!

Try doing that on a motorbike....

Of course all this BHP has to be held in reserve in a country where the speed limit is 70 mph (said the bloke who drives the C1)

I find riding a fast bike quite relaxing and surprisingly comfortable. As long as you're not actually trying to race somebody and are just covering the ground at a good pace and assuming one is kitted out in decent riding gear and on a good machine, the way the miles and four wheeled traffic just flash past and into the dust behind you is quite something, sheer effortlessness.
