Absolute beaut Martin and enjoy, hard to believe the spec and official MPG figures equate,
maybe post your findings in real world driving condition and not in a BM controlled enviroment.

LOL! I've verified the onboard computer a few times by filling up and checking the mileage. For a performance car, I'm pleased with the mileage. My old 540i would barely get me 21mpg.

Yeah, I've been in it, and it is indeed a beaut - I've strayed from German marques over the years, but never again - well, apart from Land Rover, but I guess they're no longer British anyway, albeit being built here.

This was fun (if a bit difficult to park with no power steering)

This was quite a laugh too, with 2.7 litres of 24 valve V6 to shove it along it was a pretty rapid beast, 120mph cruising a doddle. Amazing handling & roadholding, at the price of a rock hard ride. Strangely, I found it comfortable, it was the first car in years that didn't give me backache on a long run. Sold it about a year and a half ago, not sure why really, it was a damn good car and in great nick!.

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

You did clock that it's a diesel? I love the power delivery: it's a wall of torque, and smooth being a classic BMW six-pot!

I have memories of the belt failing in my 540i (twice). That was an absolute bugger to steer without power steering. Big 4.4l V8 lump over wide front tyres

Nice one. That's also a rather succinct description of the performance of my 'hearse' (although your Beemanto currently has the edge on horses)...

Six-pot diesels are just so super-smooth, giving you effortless power delivery and venomous levels of torque!!

I'm looking forward to getting the Merc Brabus tuned (and unlimited) in the New Year, which will take the engine performance up to around 300bhp, with a top speed of over 170mph. It should certainly make it one of the quickest estate cars on the road....!!!
