Lol - JC and you are 'townies', and have been living/working for too long in or around big cities, hence why your views on that matter are jaundiced!

I agree with that premise on the majority of today's overcrowded roads, but not when you have access to the wide-open and often empty roads (especially now) found in North and West Wales, and also in many parts of Scotland, outwith of the environs of Glasgow and Edinburgh. Probably also in certain parts of Devon and Cornwall, or Suffolk/East Anglia.

Honestly, in certain places up here, I could drive for MILES on end, at 70MPH or above, and encounter no hold ups - or depending on the time of day, often any other bugger on the road... That's why I love driving nice cars, which reward you and make driving a pleasure, and also living somewhere where such joys are still possible in today's otherwise rat-race world!

Ali, this is one for you to watch, and really nails what's special about the 4S (some of which i've already mentioned, re: stiffness/grip around corners, yet quiet and comfy):

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

You should try driving in Europe - bloody roads are full of them My mate stuffed his Harley into the front of a people carrier when we were riding in Luxembourg. We couldn't understand what the bloke was saying, but he seemed to be implying it was our fault, the cheeky bastard.

Try driving in India. They use whichever side of the road they fancy - whereas elephants just wander down the middle.

Mind you in Burma (Myanmar), most of the cars are right hand drive (as here), yet they drive on the right-hand side of the road.

But the passengers on the roof will call out if you get too close to something so in practice it works.

Can anyone recommend somewhere I could order stainless or titanium nuts and bolts for my Kawasaki ninja 650,brake disc bolts mainly, also a top knacker chain and sprocket set. I've been riding for 35 years and these bits and Bob's have deteriorated the quickest I've ever known, ta Jim

Ebay would be you're friend here James, should be few sellers with what you want. No doubt you'll know what size you need. It's Jap so it will be metric (M6, M8 etc).

Or you could try a local place that specialises in fasteners. We have Allthread, and William Moores in Preston. Amazed me just how wide ranging their stock was, and not big money either. Most towns will have something similar I would have thought.
