Proper bikes would be wasted on today's iPad generation kids anyway - it would have to come with sat nav and an electric motor, neither of which would stop them crashing into the first parked car they encounter

Re crashing - just read a review (Which) of a Renault Zoe electric car. The review mentions that the "all-important" AEB won't be available until April - where AEB= Automatic Emergency Braking. All-important?

I've been driving for far too long now - but I don't make a habit of driving into brick walls, and none of the cars I've ever driven has had any such feature - so I would query the review's "all important" wording.

Seems that it isn't just push bike kids who don't look where they're going.

Without AEB being standard, it's basically impossible to get a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP (as of 2019). If the car gets three stars or less in Euro NCAP safety tests, it'll be automatically rated as a Don't Buy by us.[Which]
So what part of 4 stars would still be OK even without the AEB don't the Which reviewers get?

My car has that, although its switchable. Handy and does work, although I doubt I would want to trust it too much. It can also decide if youve taken ill/fallen asleep and stop the car at side of rd(not tried that lol).
The motorway system is good in that it will follow traffic speeds in front.. that does work, even on non motorway rds although you have to be careful there, as its not really intended there... sharp bends can cause major accelerations lol
