Interesting... I can't argue, as I haven't done it, but I'm sure you're right and that it's not for the fainthearted... I do love a challenge, though!
Fair enough, I'll take your word for it, but that's not the impression he gives me. I'll still take Sabine any day, if I had to bet on who of them would be fastest around a track!
Lol, love it... I take it then, from your reference to "oil burner", that you're not a fan of big turbo V6 diesels? Strangely, that seems to be common among some 'petrol heads', and I've never understood their bias
I love BOTH - powerful petrol AND diesel engines, but what I LOVE about the latter is the TORQUE factor and overall 'effortlessness', which IME equivalent-sized petrol engines just don't produce to the same degree.
When I kick down hard on the Brabster's accelerator pedal, the sheer visceral SHOVE you get in your back, with a total absence of 'lag' from the turbo, as the power kicks in (which the engine has been specialist mapped to do, combined with a DPF and EGR delete), is completely unequalled in any 3.5L petrol saloon car I've driven.
Granted, however, you can get a nicer noise (engine note) from the bespoke exhaust system of a performance petrol engine, and that's cool, but the DEEP GROWL that the Brabster makes from tis one is none too shabby! Oh, and if a bit of burnt oil bothers you, well you know what they say... NO SMOKE, NO POKE!!
Marco.
