    Well it certainly looks interesting, not sure it's ten grand's worth of 'interesting' though and I'd imagine tracking down spares would be a nightmare.
    It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    Neither would I but, in a market where some mono records are changing hands at £5k+ and a pair of Western Electric 4181a's go for £20k+ who knows what someone will pay for it.

    Turntable: Heavily-modified Technics SL-1210MK5G [Mike New bearing/ETP platter/Paul Hynes SR7 PSU & reg mods]. Funk Firm APM Achromat/Nagaoka GL-601 Crystal Record Weight/Isonoe feet & boots/Ortofon RS-212D/Denon DL-103GL in Denon PCL-300 headshell with Funk Firm Houdini/Kondo SL-115 pure-silver cartridge leads.

    Paul Hynes MC head amp/SR5 PSU. Also modded Lentek head amp/Denon AU-310 SUT.

    Other Cartridges: Nippon Columbia (NOS 1987) Denon DL-103. USA-made Shure SC35C with NOS stylus. Goldring G820 with NOS stylus. Shure M55E with NOS stylus.

    CD Player: Audiocom-modified Sony X-777ES/DAS-R1 DAC.

    Tape Deck: Tandberg TCD 310, fully restored and recalibrated as new, by RDE, plus upgraded with heads from the TCD-420a. Also with matching TM4 Norway microphones.

    That's a nice bit of history, not sure you can price something like that in any normal way. It sure is ugly.

    17.5" platter - must have been designed to play 16" discs. Why no 45rpm? - RCA invented the "45".

    No specification for rumble or W&F, though with a 50/62 lb (which?) platter mass and double drive the latter should be very low.

    Bet replacement idlers are impossible to get nowadays, or if they are available will cost a fortune. (Replacement idlers for my EMT 930 cost around £90! )
