Here we go, the expected cop-out
Point 1 - there were 3 Newcastle players offside when the ball was struck.
Point 2 - of those 3, 2 were between the goal posts.
Point 3- the Newcastle player nearest the goal line became active when he moved out of the way. If he hadn't moved out of the way the ball would have struck him and likely as not gone in, and because of his offside position the goal would have been disallowed anyway.
