    I was going to buy 'The Hobbit' in Sainsbury's last week but they were asking £14.99 for the DVD (god knows how much the Blu-Ray is, didn't bother to look). Just ridiculous price and I won't pay it - plus give it 3 months it will be £7.99 then £4.99 and so on. Last thing I did buy was the old BBC series 'Private Shulz' - well worth £6.99 of anyone's money.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

    I mainly buy Blu Rays these days but my last BR purchases were:

    The Impossible, Lord of the Rings extended Edition box set, Push, Conan, Green Zone, The Adjustment Bureau.

    BRs are so cheap these days its not worth buying DVDs

    Bought the Hobbit...Need to stop buying DVD's as I have a shed load lying unwatched and sealed...Some bought a long time ago. Just finished putting loads away last week to make room for CD's.

    Probably this;

    I hardly ever buy movies of any kind as I have a Lovefilm account and get what I want to watch through the post and send them back when I'm done.

    I agree. I already have far too many music DVDs and Blu Rays and I rarely watch a movie more than once. Netflix and Amazon Prime means I no longer have to store more discs!

    Are they available to watch in 4K HDR, though? When you play that through a good home-cinema system, with the right equipment, it makes a *massive* difference to the result!

    I don't buy many Blu-rays/DVDs, but I like to have a selection of good ones to hand, which I can show to friends and family when we're together

    Next I want to get these:

    “Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

    “You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”
