Default Now Screening - What Are You Watching Right Now?

Imo one of the best blu rays to come from the BBC (2Entertain), a nature documentary if you like, natural history

South Pacific. Just remember blu ray.com is an american site & they don't like 50Hz stuff It's not perfect but even blown up to 2560 x 1080 (top & bottom cropped) the picture is pretty incredible with the right equipment... Sound is as good as you'll get

Not enough time for other stuff as i need to be up early Just watching the first part on disc 1...

    Default The Scariest Movie Ever....

Not some make-believe monster but a real one we created

I was always fascinated by pictures of real A-bomb blasts, but here you get the whole lot, video & audio (both are scary as all hell ).. Damn near all the still pictures you have ever seen brought to life on video & more...

I guess we can can kill each other more than enough times over & i think we kind of forget that..

Not the best video but it needs to be seen..

If you don't get scared there is something wrong... I think the Atomic Cannon kind of really shows up how powerful these things are (incredible 280mm shell).

E2A:- Just put a few pics of a that cannon being fired. Scroll down a tad..

    A film maybe tomorrow

I am a big fan of foreign language or World Movies and I bought one a few days ago which its cover seems to indicate is an out and out disaster movie.....

Aftershock is a Chinese film about an earthquake in the 1970s in Tangshan city. Well it is a disaster film but its much more of a family saga. Its a beautiful and moving film with good special effects when needed but it is the story and the acting which are amazing. I was moved very deeply by it.

I watched it via a DVD but it may be available on Blue Ray.

Hi Neil, yes it indeed is available on blu ray

Think i'll have to get a look at it as i have been very surprised at the picture & audio quality of a lot of foreign blu rays Don't buy French stuff unless you understand French as they damn near always use forced subtitles (can't switch them off), the Germans on the other hand allow you to switch them off if listening to an English audio track

Can't fault the video either Check out "Astronaut Farmer"

The movie is in Mandarin with subtitles.

I don't mind fixed subtitles but it would be nice to switch them off if you speak the lingo. I should point out that I don't speak any foreign languages.

Neither do i, except where you can select the correct language Unfortunately French blu rays force the subtitles even on English soundtracks

Not seen one that doesn't, the Germans have it switchable so no forced subs or so it appears with every disc i have purchased so far - a good few

    To finish the evening off...

Law Abiding Citizen Excellent blu ray with Gerard Butler (not heard of him until very recently - but a reasonable actor)...

Great film 2.40:1 so my screen is full, i'm loving it

Ok guys I'll start with start with the last 3 movies i watched.

1st 2010 dvd release of Unthinkable, staring Sam L Jackson and Michael Sheen (a great film a bit gorey but it makes you think)

2nd 2008 dvd release of Cadallac Records ( the story of Muddy Waters and Chess Records in my oppinion a must see)

3rd 2010 dvd of The Bad Leutenant ( a remake of the Harvey Keitell original staring Nicholas Cage, in my opinion a better movie than the original, with a good performance from Nick Cage, which makes a change from so other recent things he's done)

Finaly here's a link for the IMBD website, where you will be able to read more about the above movies and see the trailers http://www.imdb.com/ enjoy
