Bog standard cables made with what looks like red/black twisted pair cable you could buy in Woolworths forty years ago. Average looking plugs - so expect to be able to sell them on eBay for £500 the pair, by giving them a fancy name and say that not only were they constructed under the light of a full moon, but were blessed by the Dali Lama. RS 50 strand twisted in a drill? In the mid to late 70's, t'was about as good as you could get, although RS did a 56 strand we went over to.

Yep, ancient 56 strand as recommended by Naim and Linn back in the 80's, twisted by a drill as Dave says. I used to do a 'star quad' version for the afficianados..
