The arm is moved by a linear induction motor arrangement.
Finally got round to having a listen to it at the weekend and the verdict is.................not good. Very sibilant and slightly distorted - I think the arm alignment and setup still isn't quite right. I shall have to gird my loins to drag its 26kg bulk back downstairs from the listening room to the repair bench!
Engineers: fixing problems you didn't know you had in ways you don't understand.
