I'd have liked a grey 301 but ended up with a cream grease bearing one instead (no strobe), and I think it's better looking than the grey now (although mine needs repainting).



AFAIK the EMT arms use the old Ortofon A style headshell which has a shorter overhang and the pins are in a + rather than an X - so not sure it will fit.

Those long SME pattern headshells look a bit 'girly' to me anyway ;-)

The EMT 997 arm (the "Banana") is available with either the Neumann 'diamond' contact arrangement (as used by EMT) or the Ortofon/SME arrangement.

It is not clear if 997 arms fitted with the SME contact arrangement have the correct geometry to allow the use of SME-style headshells.
