    Default Bat for Lashes

I heard this band recently on R2 ( on the clock radio while in bed!) and I thought they sounded great, especially as the played live on the radio. They remind me very much of another band that have been around for ages called Bel Canto. Anyway, I ordered the CD today (free with nectar points!)...

Here is a nice video on youtube...

    Hi Guys

Natasha Khan (Bat for Lashes) has a new album out this week I think. Its had some good reviews but is apparently not quite as quirky as her first one Fur and Gold. I hope the sound is better as her first album on a few tracks peaks into distortion here and there...on dynamic peaks. The American release of the album is slightly better than the UK version, in this regard (but not by much.)There is also an extra track not on the UK release.

    New album TWO SUNS

Audio clips from the album Two Suns http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUvC9...eature=channel
    first track - sleep alone
second track - moon and moon
    third track - two planets
    fourth track - daniel
fifth track - peace of mind
    sixth track - good love

Hints of Judie Tzuke, Sinead O'connor, Sigor Ros, and a wee bit of Kate Bush

Sorry! I must have missed that one. Good to see a mention of Tori in there, I saw her years ago in Liverpool, fantastic. Now wether Bat for Lashes is anything like Judie Tzuke, well that is a matter of opinion! Judie is another favourite of mine, she is great live too (was)

Great isn't she? I was lucky enough to see her in a small venue called the Neptune theatre on Hanover St. in Liverpool a good few years ago now. She had a youg lady with her who may have been her manager's daughter (or maybe her daughter after reading Neils post..)who she brought on stage to do a track and she was great too!

There are we hints of Judie in Natasha's vocals from time to time. I would love to have seen Judie Tzuke live. I have a DVD but its not the same. She does still play the odd gig still but not where I live.

I love that Judie has her own label now and her daughter Ballie is quite good too, she does mostly Dance stuff as does Judie too from time to time Morchebas last album Dive Deep being an example of such.

More likely to be Judie's daughter aquapiranha.
