Very nice, quite surprised that arm looks so good on an old idler!

It sounds really good there as well. VTA was a near thing to set up as with the Glider it worked out perfectly, but the arm is set absolutely as low as it can go. I'm afraid poor Fletcher would be rolling in his grave if he knew what sort of table his arm ended up on. A B-12H (with a motor big enough to run a washing machine) is a far cry from a Nottingham.

Lovely stuff, Bruce! Always liked the old Reks, as they were 'proper' turntables, with a long history in the broadcasting industry, so I can imagine that combination sounds very good indeed.

How would you describe the fundamental sound of the turntable itself? I'd imagine it has plenty of 'heft' and drive, in the bass

First evening with my Audio Grail-restored 1959 Garrard 301 tonight. It’s in a Russ Collinson walnut/birch plinth with recess for the deck and a second cutout for a future dedicated mono arm. The arm fitted now is a Timestep T-612 with titanium arm tube. On the end of it is an Ortofon SPU Classic GMII. Currently playing Swiss Movement by Les McCann & Eddie Harris, and sounding fantastic. I’m borrowing an Ikeda tonearm cable, which goes into the Ortofon T20 MkII and Aurorasound VIDA phono stage, then my Leben and Harbeth pairing. Really pleased with this setup!
    Analogue: Thorens TD 124/II - SME M2-9R - Ortofon SPU Wood A - Sculpture A Mini Nano
Digital: Roon Nucleus - Limetree Network
    Amplifier: Naim NAIT 50
