Therefore, owning a Mac makes me feel a little 'different, as it's the more uncommon choice. However, it's the opposite with phones, as the majority of folk use an iPhone (or something from Samsung), so being one of the 'sheep' like that, and embracing the common choice, would bother me!
You probably think I'm daft, but that's just the way I am: I've GOT to have something bespoke or a little different from the norm, as you see is the same with all my other choices (car, hi-fi, even house, lol).
Btw, I'm no luddite; I'm just someone who doesn't automatically embrace technology because it's the 'done thing' or trendy. I'll ONLY do it *if* it'll unquestionably enhance my lifestyle, which is why I've so far resisted buying a smartphone, as up until now I've had no real need for one.
Marco.
Personally, I really don't care whether I go "with the herd" or "against the herd", because often, going against the herd can be a worse method of point scoring and showing off! I make up my own mind based on my own criteria and needs and, whether this tallies with majority or not, I really don't care.
Now, I am no fan of Apple generally and I detest Macs particularly, but I wouldnt be without my iPhone. I've tried Samsungs, Sonys, LGs and some posh thing covered with fake crystals and I found all of them to be inferior. The iPhone just gets on with the job and does what I require of it.
I think, therefore, what I'm trying to say, is don't dismiss what might be the best option just because of a misguided need to not be a 'sheep'. Sometimes, something is popular for a good reason - because it's the best at what it does!
