Yep, that's what happened, same thing last year, 10 days in New York, it's Canada this year. I didn't even get the chance to stick the cost of me going with them on my card.
I do have to add that we don't actually live together, I spend every Fri-Mon there as well as any time off I get, for all intents and purposes we have the dynamic of a married couple. we are together more than not I would say.

Many couples do take separate hols, and if she is used to it then maybe why. If she would not discuss it though then I guess she doesnt rate you as important as you do her, assuming you wouldnt do likewise.
