“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Just bought a pair of speakers from Shadowphax.

He was very helpful from start to finish and they arrived well packaged.

Very happy to recommend him as a genuine person to deal with.

Many thanks to Kember (Peter) for the JVC integrated amp which is destined for the kitchen system. It arrived safe and sound together with a consignment of carrier bags inside the box which will replenish my dwindling supplies. Which reminds me, I must reinstate my carrier bag breeding program. "Carrier bags breed...?" I hear you gasp. What? Have you never noticed that if you place a couple of carrier bags in a kitchen draw and return to it a few days later an entire colony of excited carrier bags will leap out at you and cavort all over your the kitchen floor?

Thanks to Andy (Rexton) for this Sansui graphic equaliser that arrived yesterday:

Look at the size of the box! I thought Andy had sent me his Tannoy Lancasters by mistake

Oh and if you have been out recently to get some brown parcel tape and have been unsuccessful it's because the entire UK supply was used wrapping this up...if you look up 'bomb proof packaging' on Wikipedia there is a picture of this parcel.

    Thanks again Andy.
