Also had a game of Subbuteo but they were cheating ridiculously so it broke down.
Got jumped on by a 5 year old at 3:30am this morning, it wasn't malicious, she wanted her nan. The two grandsons are both old before their time, the 12 year old was offering relationship advice to his 30 year old aunt (quite amusing but she wasn't laughing).

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Not heard a bad KEF reference (although there are loads of them and I've not heard them all) so I think you'll like them.

Cheers yourself. Currently drinking Bath Ales 'Gem'. £1.60 from Sainsburys. Thank God I had the sense to stock up there yesterday ahead of the snow.

More than 2 quid a bottle if you buy it in bulk direct from the brewery. That makes sense. https://bathales.com/shop/gem-12-x-500ml-bottles/

How bizarre. They cost £1.90 at the 'little' Sainsburys just down the road, so even that works out cheaper than buying in bulk. It's the other way round with wine, I generally buy that by the case, and there's usually a handy saving (and free delivery) compared to buying single bottles.

I've bought wine and beer by the case before but found the savings were more than wiped out by the fact that I was drinking 100% more as there was always booze in the house to go at.
