    Default High Force - Middleton-in-Teesdale

On the way home from Keswick yesterday, drove home through Middleton-in-Teessdale. Stopped at High Force.
Here are a few photo's of High Force. Was looking forward to climbing to the top of the falls, but the area has been locked off, for H&S reasons.
People keep falling off the top, so photo's only from the ground up.

Lovely pics, one of my fav parts of our region. I'll bet its been at its most impressive lately with all the rainfall.
One of these days... I'm going to cut you into little pieces.

I hadn't been to High Force in a long time, probably 15 years or more.
It was how I remembered it too, plenty of water flowing over.
Though I can remember when it has been quite low levels of water.

Great pictures, as usual, Andy! If you love waterfalls (as I do), check out one local to us in North Wales, Pistyll Rhaeadr, which is more than twice the height of Niagra (!) :

We go there often. You can climb up to the top, and the views over the Berwyn mountain range and its stunning valleys are quite incredible.

Observe the little wooden lodge/cafe, halfway through the video, which offers B&B accommodation, where the bedroom has a balcony overlooking the superb sight of the waterfall.

Next year we plan to stay there in the summer, for my birthday, and sip champagne on the balcony as we watch the wonderful wonder of nature flow past in front of us, and then have dinner at our favourite country house hotel, The West Arms, in the picturesque little hamlet of Llanarmon DC, where the food is phenomenal: http://www.thewestarms.com/

    Hi Marco

Brilliant video link. I really must organise a trip there soon.
I can see why you will be visiting the area for your b'day.
    Cheers for the link.
You will have to take some photo's while you are there (water falls only please)

You should go, Andy - you'd absolutely love it.

The whole of the region is steeped in history and natural beauty, where the surrounding landscape takes on a whole different atmosphere and character, depending on the weather conditions. If you really want to feel 'at one' with nature, trust me, *that* is the place to be! We'll take some pics next time we go.

We feel blessed to have such natural beauty pretty much on our doorstep (only a short drive away), which is why you'll never see us living in a 'concrete jungle'!

If you do decide to go, let me know when, and you can cruise by en-route for a quick listen (or as long as you like) to my system

    Marco.
