    Default Honister Pass Nr Keswick

Took advantage of the better weather and had a drive over to Keswick in the Lakes yesterday.
Drove through Honister Pass and stopped off at the Honister Slate Mine.
Thought I would try and tire the dogs out with a walk up the hills behind the mine. No chance, I was knackered after 2 hours and the demented mutes just wanted more.
Anyway here are a couple of photo's of the area, I took loads but would only bore you with too many.
Mind you the area looks like you could have filmed the 'Lord of the Rings' here.

    Hi John

The Lakes really are something special, really enjoy myself when there.
It is just a shame there are loads of other people about at the same timeas I was.

Love the photographs and love the Lakes with a passion. I adore the more commercial areas though but that's just my choice I guess. My fave place is Bowness on Windermere which is where I usually stay whilst I am there. I haven't been since 2006 so a visit is well overdue.

    Hi Shaun

Cheers for your comments, much appreciated, from such a good photographer as yourself.
To be honest I should really get over the the lakes more often.
I should also search out some other areas to photograph too.
It is such a great area, it is a case of where next.

Another place on the to go list is North Wales as recommended by Marco, looks great. I love that rugged landscape, though I do have a love of the harsh industrial views too.

Should really get over to see you soemtime soon, or drop by over here your self.
You are welcome anytime, in fact I have the next 4 days off work.

Nice pictures, I like the area myself although at a quiet time, I get a bit of urge to drive like a hooligan at times.
