My AV experiment
I've never been into AV, always 2 channel, but recently i've come into something very interesting by pure accident. I recently bought a Dreambox 7025 PVR:

It has analogue and toslink output. I plugged the analogue output straight into my amplifier, and was quite surprised by the sound quality. The dreambox is a clever box, I am using both cable and satellite tuners. The next step will be to install a hard drive in it and see if I can install slimserver in it, the dreambox is linux based.

This is a PVR, right? Did you say you're using both cable and satellite tuners, i.e. it's able to pickup and decode Sky and also has a cable-TV tuner?

Hi Chris,
Yes,I use it for both cable TV and multiple satellites, and yes it can decode Sky if you have a sky card. All you need to do is add a hard drive and it becomes a PVR.

For further information and prices for the 7025 you can check it out here:

As you can see, you can use 2 satellite tuners or 2 cable tuners or just one of each.
