    Default Elaborate extension block

20200930_092702.jpg20200930_092727.jpg20200930_092736.jpg I found this whilst dismantling the back bedroom for a refurb, it looks like an extension block where you wire all your devices into the block instead of plugging them in, I have no idea where it's from, what's the point in it?

I think it is a Bulgin IEC connector - from memory, just a small form mains connection, to save space. Amplifiers used to have them on the back panel so that you could plug in a tuner (or similar) for mains supply without having to have lots of mains sockets in the wall (popular 1970's?)
