I would really like to find out what this piece of music is and who the composer is. I'm pulling my hair out over this one. Perhaps, one of you guys/gals can be of assistance, or maybe you know of someone who would be... ...please... I'm hoping.

Must I grovel... ok... I'm groveling...

    Fast forward to 1:36

Yes, this is a re-post, sort of. I'm a desperate man.

Sorry Biff, I've no idea on the music, but I was surprised how crackly the record was. If I was going to video my gear I'd at least choose a good pressing. Also, does the turntable look crooked to you at 2'33"?

Its familiar, very ,we're working on it,I shall be seeing an acquaintance of mine in the next couple of days he'll probably know,he's a bit of an expert as his job is mainly classical music ie he conducts orchestras for a living, you know the Halle RPO ,that sort of thing.

Blimey!!! (Is that the right word?) How did I miss all that!?!? (that other post)

A most heartfelt thanks to all who participated in tracking this down (Chris, stratocaster rustler et al). And, Martin, many thanks for pointing me to that thread. Can't find the "respect smilie"; but, you all have mine. I'm so happy I think I just peed myself!!! Quick to bed, then I've got a recording to track down, tomorrow (later today). Man, I am "stoked"! Happy, happy, happy day!

Not only did I receive the XRCD, which sounds superb, but I also have a vinyl copy winging its way to me from the US

Oh, yes, yes, yes... I'm such an idiot... ...and I'm a guitar player (first piece I learned was by F. Sor)! The orchestral thing totally threw me. Geeezzz.... I know this piece. Too much rock and roll and stratocaster playing for me.

Sounds very cool with the orchestra, so I'll still be tracking it down in said form.

...still feel like an idiot, though...
