Noun = practice
Verb = practise
Andr'e - you may find that a powered USB hub would keep your DAC awake, rather than direct connection to a USB socket on the PC.
Also, have you tried looking in Control Panel | Power Options | Change Plan Settings?

In all instances, I use 'practice'. For me, anything else just looks wrong (although I accept that it isn't, always).
