“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Yes, a 'Node 2i', trying it out with a three month trial of Tidal Hifi for 3 quid.

Well after a couple of weeks with the Bluesound I haven't played a CD & only the odd record, it's that good.

Roy, how does the Bluesound internal DAC compare to the Chord?

Have to admit I intended to compare the two but day one just plugged the Bluesound straight into the amp & been enjoying the flexibility, convenience & sound quality since. I read somewhere that the Chord doesn't support MQA anyway but I stand to be corrected on that, I'm no streaming expert!

Personally I don't bother with MQA.

Anyway I reckon that if Bluesound is doing any MQA unfolding it will be sending that (unfolded) signal via the coax output (to your Chord) so you will still benefit.

I'll give it a try at some stage, logic dictates that the Chord DAC should be better?

Given the price deferential I should certainly hope so, but interesting to see if actually the case.

Can you not wire such that you only need to change the input on your amp to get an instant a/b comparison? I assume you have a coax cable to run between the Bluesound and the Chord.

I'll just unplug the coax from the CD player I'm not using & plug that into the Bluesound.

If the Chord don't sound better than the Node . . . . I'll eat my DAC.
