Good value Roy. Be handy for the bedroom.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

It sounds pretty good for the price. Bought direct from Cambridge via eBay as 'manufacturer refurbished' stock but it was obviously brand new & never been out of the box.

Decided the phono stage in the Luxman was just as good as the Quad 24p I’d been using (maybe better?), so one less box in the rack & I’m trying an old Pioneer stable platter as a transport, the Cyrus is better but sometimes fussy about what it plays.

Trying small plinths under the Tannoys (aka old ikea shelving I’ve cut up). There’s definitely an improvement.

I say, your turntable plinth is rather short, couldn’t you find one a bit taller?

Seriously, nice looking set, very nice indeed.

Thanks Russell. I have to go into training for a week or two if I decide to move any of my kit

Traded in for the Luxman (3 boxes down to one, or 4 if you count the phono stage I just moved on).
