    I'm Howard.

Question Is X-Factor the Opiate of the Masses?

Is Religion the Opiate of the Masses? Frankly I neither know nor care. However I wonder if a more appropriate (merely through being current) rephrasing might be is X-Factor the Opiate of the Masses?

In those dull moments such as shaving, wiping my arse or brushing my teeth I wonder if there is any verifiable evidence to disprove the X-Factor hypothesis or indeed both hypothesises. If there is, I’m probably too thick to spot it, or am I looking in the wrong place? Or both?

On the other hand, could it be that without it, the CHAVs would crawl out from out of the bling-laden caves and engaged in even more rioting and ASBO-generating activity?

Or is it possibly to discourage the brighter of them (ability to use cutlery during feeding rather than as a handy weapon, mutter a phrase without including "innit?" in it, and so on) from matters such as this? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/poli...ifestyles.html
