Just been looking at prices for the Bernstein Mahler 9th on Amazon and eBay -- crazy !! CDs start at over £20 used, and the LPs seem to sell for £100s.

Do you know about www.camelcamelcamel.com ?
You can set a watch for a particular CD on Amazon and it will send you an email if something comes up at or below your target price.
The site is a bit fiddly to use, but you get the hang of it!
Not seen camelcamelcamel before I have to stop looking at such sites get too tempted to spend
I dont have that collecting urge any more but cant resists a bargain so have bought loads from amazon or ebay for a quid or two and charity shops
yeah silly prices I didnt get the 7th either
the whole lot reissued can be got with some songs in a box for reasonable amounts so why they go for so much I dont know

    I like this.
I suspect that if it had the name Beethoven at the top of the manuscript with an early opus number then these pieces, and this composer, would be far more solidly based in the standard repertoire.
The violin sonata is a particular standout for me.
Good sq, in a reverberent kind of way.

Yesterday, twice. Kind of intriguing variety of interesting modern music.

From disliking his playing, Paul Lewis has now become one of my favourite pianists.
Listening to this at the moment ....
