    Oh my goodness.
This is a bit special - particularly the Dona Nobis Pacem.

And then, this grows on me. A lot. This is the first of a dozen or so listens to the piece where it actually has me enthralled. I'm a bit of a slow starter at times.

I got on to this guy via a Fanfare review of an ensemble recording that he conducts.
It's a fine Goldberg, loads of repeats - full up playing time of 79m
    Excellent sq, too.

These were pleasantly enjoyable listening ...

Which led me on to these, perhaps even more enjoyable ... 2 CDs' worth, and I played the lot!

The performers there led me on to these early string quartets. Also good.

Wonderfully rhythmic, tuneful as well, in its way. Mesmerising!

Picked this up (had to wait what seemed like an age for it to arrive from the USA). Thrillingly spacious 1967 recording and Tebaldi in fabulous form heads a brilliant cast.

Played the first LP of the set of 3.
I'd not come across this piece before - delightful music.

    And now playing

Not something I've played for years, but it's nice to hear it again.

Mmmm, not quite totally satisfactory for me, but bloody good.

I prefer a more Bachian character to the 1st mvt of the Saint Saens 2nd PC - but the pianistic brilliance of the finale is rather impressive!

The Ravel PC is interestingly done, lovely delicate precision in the slow mvt, well worth a listen.
A very exciting take on Rhapsody in Blue done with the lighter and more free-wheeling jazz band orchestration Wonderful playing by pianist and band soloists alike. ... the acceptable face of jazz .

Grosvenor looks like a sulky kid in the photo, that was 4 years ago. He's done a couple of other Decca albums that I will definitely investigate.
