I'm Lawrence.
Ravel - 'Tzigane' and 'Shéhérazade'
London Symphony Orchestra, cond. Claudio Abbado.
DGG 427 314-2 (1989)

Mozart - 'Piano Concerto No. 13 in C, K 415 and No. 14 in E flat, K. 449'
Mitsuko Uchida (piano) with the English Chamber Orchestra cond. Jeffrey Tate.
Barry
Sibelius - 'Symphony No.1 in E minor, and Symphony No.4 in A minor'
Wiener Philharmoniker, cond. Lorin Maazel.
Decca 417 789-2 (1964 (No.1) and 1968 (No.4))
A reasonable, but IMO somewhat pedestrian reading of the Symphony No.1. A much more dynamic and immersive experience is to be found with version by The Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Neeme Järvi, on BIS CD-221 (1984).

So having listened to Deep Purple in Concert with the Royal Philharmonic earlier today I realised that having tweaked and my cartridge and arm set up over the past 2 weeks my system is sounding rather wonderful. I seem to have hit that absolute sweet spot, it all sounds so natural and alive.
So encouraged I have gone back to listening to some classical, and this sounds gorgeous, I might just have to re-listen to my favourite pieces, which could take some time.
By the way I am no expert, but if you like Mozart and happen across these boxed sets in a charity shop and they are in good condition, just buy them, the quality of the recordings and vinyl is excellent IMO. I think there are 10 to the full Mozart set I have 5 of them. I should have purchased all of them a the time
