Classical cuts on Decca 'black label' are always sonically superb - great music, too!

Currently watching (and listening) to The Proms, live on the BBC, which is superb [through my AV system]. So glad that they managed it in some form this year!

Yes, the few I have seen have been good - Sony 4K TV with the audio via a Quad 520 135W amplifier into B&W DM2Aa speakers.

Usually I listen to the Proms via Radio 3 on my downstairs system: Quad FM4 tuner into a Mark Levinson preamp thence into either a pair of ML-2 or a pair of Quad 510 monoblocks feeding Quad 57s. The sound balance is impeccable, but fails to capture the sheer 'live' presence of being there; despite the appalling acoustics of the RAH.

I have four version of the Four Seasons on vinyl and I think this may be my favourite, possibly a more modern interpretation but full of life and soul.

Vivaldi* - Anne-Sophie Mutter, Wiener Philharmoniker, Herbert Von Karajan ‎– Le Quattro Stagioni / The Four Seasons / Die Vier Jahreszeiten
    Label: EMI ‎– 42 099 2, His Master's Voice ‎– 42 099 2
Format: Vinyl, LP, Album, Club Edition, Gatefold
    Country: Germany
    Released: 1984

Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

Analog Inputs: Pro-Ject Signature 10 TT & arm, Benz Micro LP-S, Michel Cusis MC, Goldring 2500 and Ortofon Rondo Blue cartridges, Hitachi FT5500 mk2 Tuner

Digital:- Marantz SA-KI Pearl CD player, RaspberryPi/HifiBerry Digi+ Pro, Buffalo NAS Drive

Amplification:- AudioValve Sunilda phono stage, Krell KSP-7B pre-amp, Krell KSA-80 power amp

Output: Wilson Benesch Vector speakers, KLH Ultimate One Headphones

Cables: Tellurium Q Ultra Black II RCA & Chord Epic 2 RCA, various speaker leads, & links

I think I am nearing audio nirvana, but don’t tell anyone.

    Label: CBS ‎– CBS 76369, CBS ‎– S 76369
    Series: Grands Interprètes –
Format: Vinyl, LP, Stereo, Label Variant, Gatefold
    Country: UK
    Released: 1974
