Default I am so trendy; I shoot HDR

I am no longer yesterday's man, I have set my filmless camera to choose its own ASA and I'm all tooled up with a copy of Photomatix...

What do you think? Sort of hyper-real. Does the camera lie?

Hi. I have played with Photomatix and some interesting results can be achieved. I think your picture looks cool though. Here is one of mine.

Personally, I hate *most* overblown HDR. It makes my eyes hurt.

Yes they can become tiresome. So don't look at them if they make your eyes hurt.

I like the first pic, the effect is good for a few photos but if over-used it becomes kitsch.

I agree that it can be overdone - and of course I've pushed it to the limit in my example (although I really like it for this shot).

I'm just playing with the new toy really. It's refreshing to try something different from time to time.

    It's a far cry from developing HP5 in ID11 at 1:1 for 13 minutes at 68 degrees...

    Thanks for your comments.

Wow, that's freaky I can't decide if it's real or not, but it kind of looks like an incredibly detailed 3D street drawing done in chalk

I'd compare it to the use of auto tune in music at the mo ... It's everywhere, for the most part mind numbing from how many times it's been witnessed. But once in a while it's used well!
There are some videos on you tube which are made from stop motion animation using HDR landscape photos ... They are awesome!
I quite like this too actually ... For once its been use for something other than just landscape or a shop window at night or the inside of a church etc
I like Johns too, the reflection is really nice!
