A word in support of James for a change.

The limited liability is just that - to limit his liability to the capital of the company, which can be kept at virtually nil. So they cannot go for his personal assets like his house.

But the forum can be closed by a successful libel case, and it depends on if he is culpable personally in the libel as he could still be sued as an individual, he should avoid naming anyone as the responsible publisher in the forum as they can be gone for individually as well, Ltd company or not.

Also with no win no fee lawyers constantly punting for business, running a forum is a risky business. But it should always be remembered the publisher of a libel (forum owner and interestingly responsible mods) is only liable after the fact i.e. the individual who made the post in the first place.

Thanks for your comment Richard. It did occur to me after making the post that this may have something to do with the libel threat. Would have made more sense to do this earlier or on setting up the forum. I just think forums would be better set up as a club or possibly a charity for those suffering from Hi-Fi obsessive behavior.

I would like to thank the AOS membership for welcoming us here whilst the WAM was shut down. Your hospitality was tremendous. The moderating of this thread, I know it cant have been an easy job, was quite superb.
And a big thank you to Marco for his reserves of tolerance.

I think that sums up the Wam perfectly

I for one am glad the Wam is back up!

I don't see why peeps get so upset. I use Wam and Here (and others) and find all of them compliment each other in their own way.

    Hi Pete,

Thanks for bringing that to our attention. However, I don't think that hosting a running commentary on what's happening on Wigwam, now that the site has reopened, is something that is liable to be of benefit to AoS, so please, let's just leave the guys on Wigwam now to get on with it

Yep, it was a big mistake giving infant schools pc's and internet access.

Just before it fully re-opened, they opened up the classifieds and asked for wammers. It stated if you didn't like the wam you could *'@! off! Says it all really. How to turn an interesting place of discussion, debate and solidarity into a juvenille playground. I've given up with forums, too many heroes and wanna be's who couldn't cut it in the real world.
