Although no longer available, I have been using an Audioref mat on my Thorens 125 for the last 20+ years. This is a flat softish rubber/polymer type mat and was well regarded in the "flat earth"...

I use an aluminium shim supplied by Isokinetic with my 103. It adds 3.3 grams to the weight and if glued gives a much better fixing.
