I think it just failed. It was always recognized. Win10 has USB 2.0 audio built-in now.

I didn't think of that, I have the 12V arriving today. the stock power supply that came with the Caiman II is 15V .8A

I have the 12v iFi iPower arriving tomorrow. says 12V/1.8A, would this be enough if i add the Capella to my Caiman II? will it work well with HD800?...

I had Mitch Singerman do the upgrade for me, not many hours on it yet, very nice. using HD800s with a couple different amps. still wondering about the Capella.

Using the Caiman II with Asynch-1, and has been working well for a quite a while. Windows 7 current drivers.

I had some issues with the Asynch-1 with PC/Win7 at first.

PC does require a driver and the Schiit Gen2 1.16 works excellent for me.

I used the CM6631A drivers 7.0.11.160 dated 3/4/2013 and WASAPI is now working in J River.

previous drivers were 7.0.11.80 dated 07/13/2012.

no issues now, just great sound.

I bought an Peachtree TI which turned out the have the same chipset as the DAC TE7022 (i think) and same issue...
